As promised, here is a link to the code and the slides of our BESUG session last evening @combell.

I hope you had a good time and found some inspiration to start developing your own desktop applications with Silverlight.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send a mail.

I also hope that I can welcome you for our next session at community day where we will talk about the new features of the Windows Phone 7 mango update.

I also want to thank combell for the location, food and drinks and off course the amazing T-shirts. I know a lot of people who want to have a shirt like this one.

Windows Phone session on Community Day

MIC3073_logo2011jubilee_vecto

Since 5 years, Belgian user groups put their brains together to offer you a free event where developers and ip pro’s can network and share knowledge.

BESUG is one of the many user groups who will deliver a session and answer on all your silverlight and or windows phone question.

This is a the summary of our session:

What’s new in Windows Phone 7 Mango update

Last year, the BESUG session offered an overview of the possibilities to develop applications for Windows Phone 7 using Silverlight. This year, we will focus on the improvements of the Mango release including the use of sensors, the new emulator, performance, application lifecycle, XNA integration and much more. During the session, we will build an application that demonstrates all these features.

Because Frederik and I had a fight about who would deliver this session, we decided to do it together.

So, I hope that we can meet and have a chat.

Building Silverlight Desktop Applications @ Combell

Since the release of Silverlight, lot of questions raised on the fact if you would use Silverlight as a way of making animated websites or to build enterprise applications. The good thing is that you can use Silverlight in both scenarios.

In my case, I use Silverlight to build enterprise applications. As new versions came out, more and more functionality to build these kind of apps were introduced. I’m my opinion, the fact that you can create Silverlight apps out-of-the-box is a huge step in my idea of building enterprise applications.

During the besug presentation, Frederik and I will talk more about this topic.

The presentation will be hosted by combell at 9 june 2011. Find more information on the besug site by clicking here.
